That's all she knew. Her mission had changed and logically, it made sense that she was the one to set out on this suicide mission. The ties she held to those within the Resistance were not as strong as the others she'd met. That sense of fellowship hadn't caught up with her yet. Granted, there hadn't exactly been time to form such bonds.

And now there might never be. Not if she failed.

She'd done all she could to convince Luke to assist them, but this was far more important. There had to be a chance for him to change his mind - a chance for him to lend aid to what was left before it was further destroyed.

Travelling to a nearby planet, Rey sends out a false distress signal as well as a distress signal through the Force in an attempt to garner Kylo's attention masked as a message for Luke. That her ship had crashed and the Resistance intel was incorrect as to his location. She needed this to work, at least long enough to keep him from annihilating what little was left of the Resistance Fleet. It had been a crazy idea, but suicide missions were necessary in desperate times. If she could buy them even an hour, her death would not be in vain.

No...

If he found her, she's not certain he would kill her. At least being taken captive again would give her time. She wouldn't break. She hadn't before and she wouldn't now. This would work because it had to and she would never give herself over to the dark side. She would prove Luke wrong. She won't be seduced by it.

Using her quarterstaff as a walking stick, she stays on the move on the small green island - waiting for someone to take the bait. It's idyllic, really, musing silently about how much some would pay to vacation here. A paradise of its own, or her own personal hell if this all works.

Patience, Rey. ]
